Chris Stout Music Book
December 3, 2009
Fiddler Chris Stout has just celebrated the launch of his first book of music entitled 'The Chris Stout Collection - Volume 1.
The collection follows his journey as a musician and composer, from the very first tune he wrote up to the present day. Inevitably it features an eclectic mix of tunes ranging from the very traditional to others which display his own unique style of contemporary writing.
Additionally the book features tunes that will be accessible to those learning the fiddle, together with more challenging pieces for more advanced musicians, along with personal and insightful notes to accompany the music.
Chris has recorded these tunes over the years on various albums, either with Fiddlers Bid, his own quintet or with long time musical associate Catriona McKay. Many of the tunes, such as Hamnataing, have already become popular throughout the world.
Chris said "Im delighted that the book has finally been released and I'm really pleased with how it's turned out. It's basically an attempt to collate all the work over my career to date. I hope everyone gets as much enjoyment from the music as I have over the years".
You can buy the book in many music shops or from www.chrisstout.co.uk. The book retails at £15.
A review of the book by Margaret Scollay will appear on this page very soon.
