Dean Soundtrack Success
November 5, 2008
Having just completed two successful dates supporting Eddi Reader on her current UK tour, Dean Owens appears set to taste further success through having the title track of his recently released album 'Whisky Hearts' featured in the soundtrack for a new Irvine Welsh (Trainspotting) film, set for release in January 2009.
The film, yet to be finally titled, will initially be shown on ITV in January 2009 and will then also be shown during the Cannes and LA Film Festivals later next year, when a possible international cinema release will be discussed.
A CD of the film soundtrack is also likely to be released.
Irvine is a long time fan of Dean's and recently penned the sleevenotes for 'Whisky Hearts' saying "Every time he sings a song, he means it and feels it with every fibre of his being. Now that is something special – Dean is Scotland’s most engaging and haunting singer-songwriter’
Irvine also links to Dean on his own website again saying "Dean is a brilliant Edinburgh based singer / songwriter. Try and catch him before he gets too huge".
