Stateside Dean
December 3, 2009
Edinburgh based singer / songwriter Dean Owens is set to undertake a songwriting visit to New York in early 2010 thanks to a grant from the Scottish Arts Council.
Dean will travel to New York in February to work with Dave Darby of 'Gramercy Arms' fame with a view to creating new material for forthcoming albums from both parties.
Although the focus of the visit is based primarily on collaborative song-writing and new inspirations, it is hoped that Dean might also find some additional time for recording while in the city.
Dean said "It's now a while since we first released 'Whisky Hearts' so I'm keen to get some new material out there as soon as possible, and of course get back on the road. I've got plenty of my own stuff penned already, but the opportunity to work with Dave is a very exciting one which I hope will benefit us both in terms of fortcoming recordings".
