Steve Earle for Clickimin
July 20, 2010
American country legend Steve Earle, famed for songs such as 'Copperhead Road' and the 'Devil's Right Hand' is set to return to Shetland in September 2010 to perform the concert he was forced to cancel late last year due to weather related travel problems.
Earle will perform a live solo acoustic concert in Lerwick's Clickimin Leisure Centre on Thursday 9th September as part of a very short UK tour, a tour which will see him perform only four other concerts on this particular UK visit - one in Ireland, one in England, one in Wales and one in Scotland - with the final gig being in Shetland.
Promoter Davie Gardner of local company Atlantic Edge Music Services said he was delighted that Earle had chosen to return to Shetland so soon after last years disappointment. "Steve pulled out all possible stops to get here last time around to no avail" Davie said. "He promised at that time he would return as soon as possible and now here we are - part of a very short and indeed exclusive tour. That should make this particular concert all the more special" said Davie.
Tickets for the gig are now on sale from the Shetland Box Office. You can get them by calling along the Box Office in Islesburgh Community Centre in King Harald St, Lerwick or by phoning 01595 745555 or 01595 692114.
