Trad Awards Hat-trick
7 November 2008
This years annual Scottish Traditional Music Awards are set to take place in the Old Fruitmarket, Glasgow on the 5th and 6th December and three groups / artists represented by Atlantic Edge Music Services have been nominated for prestegious awards this year.
Mary Ann Kennedy & Na Seoid have picked up a nomination in high profile 'Best Album' category for their debut album of the same name.
Harpist Catriona McKay is also nominated in the 'Best Album' category for her hugely acclaimed album 'Starfish'.
'
'Bodega' also feature in the awards short-listings, deservedly (in many people minds) picking up a nomination in the 'Up-and-Coming Artist' category.
The nominations create a triple celebration for Norrie McIver from Lewis who is part of both Bodega and Na Seoid, and also a member of Skippinish who are nominated in the 'Best Dance Band' category.
We would of course be totally delighted if you could see your way fit to voting for these artists in the Trad Awards. You can do so by clicking - HERE But remember all votes need to be cast by the 21st November.
For the first time the award ceremony is being filmed for TV and will be broadcast on / by BBC Alba on 8th December.
A special programme featuring the eventual award winners will also be broadcast between Christmas and New Year on the same channel.
