Trans-Atlantic Sell-Out

All 1000 tickets for the 'Trans-Atlantic Sessions' concert in Lerwick's Clickimin Centre on Friday 3rd February sold out in just under 24 hours when they went on sell in Shetland last weekend.

A Celtic Connections spokes-person said "The demand for tickets was quite incredible right from the off and we're delighted that the whole batch ultimately sold out so quickly. Everyone is now looking forward to coming to Shetland for this great concert all the more - it should be a really special night all round".

Davie Gardner of Atlantic Edge Music Services - who's managing the event for Celtic Connections - said he was delighted that Celtic Connections faith in bringing the show to Shetland in the first instance had been justified, given the level of demand for tickets. "Celtic Connections and the Scottish Islands team and fund really went out on a limb to make this concert happen in Shetland" said Davie "So I'm delighted, although not surprised, that the Shetland public once again showed their support in such numbers for a concert of this stature and quality" he said.

Davie did point out however that rumours currently circulating that there would be a second night on the Saturday were totally without foudation.
