Turin Brakes in Lerwick

20 October 2009

Olly Knights of Turin BrakesLondon based indie duo 'Turin Brakes' recently played a sell-out acoustic show in Lerwick's Royal British Legion in a promotional parternship between Atlantic Edge Music Services and Ullapool based promoters Beyond Promotions.

The duo, famed for hits such as 'Pain Killer', 'Emergency 72' and 'Underdog (Save Me) were also nominated for the acclaimed Mercury Music Prize for their debut album 'The Optomist LP' back in 2002.

Local promoter Davie Gardner said "It was a great night all round. Not only did the tickets sell out well in advance, but I can't recall ever seeing an audience react so positively to an acoustic duo before. It was clear from the outset that the venue was packed with true fans of the band, many of whom sang along during the whole night'.
